Ohio Amish Country
Middlefield is the fourth largest Amish community in the world, can be found just east of Punderson State Park. Middlefield is bustling with buggies and shops catering to the tourist. Quilts, woodworking, and blacksmithing shops are just a few places to visit. Restaurants serving Amish style cuisine are available in this quaint town. The Middlefield Cheese House with tours, a museum, and gift shop are worth the trip! Across the street from the Cheese House is Settlers' Farm, a small collection of shops offering fine and unique gifts.
Cleveland
Cleveland, OH is located only 50 minutes southeast of Punderson Manor and is perfect for a day of family fun or a night out on the town. You can enjoy attractions such as The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, which houses over 3,000 animals that represent 600 species and the largest collection of primates in North America. The Zoo is also a botanical garden and is located near University Circle.
On the shores of Lake Erie is another of Cleveland's famous attractions, The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum. The Museum features seven levels of Rock and Roll history and includes some of the greatest rock artists such as Ray Charles, Jimi Hendrix, and The Beatles.
Other popular attractions are The Cleveland Museum of Natural History, Larchmere Blvd. Antique District, Severance Hall and much more. Cleveland is also home to an exciting nightlife with four-star restaurants and great bars to enjoy.
Burton
Burton is Pancake City USA, where each Sunday in March thousands of people gather to enjoy pancake breakfasts with delicious Geauga County Maple Syrup. During the spring season the log cabin located on the square demonstrates the process of making maple syrup to the public. Across the street from the log cabin is the historical Burton Century Village offering tours of the many buildings including an original schoolhouse and old-time general store.
Geneva State Park
Geneva State Park on beautiful Lake Erie, offers visitors a marina and access to the lake's abundant fishing opportunities. Enjoy hiking trails and a sandy beach in this natural setting.
Nelson Ledges State Park
Nelson Ledges State Park is just a short drive away, in Parkman, and offers a maze of cliffs and caverns to satisfy every hiker.
Geauga Lake Wildwater Kingdom
Geauga Lake Amusement Park is located within 20 minutes of Punderson. This theme park has a fun-filled waterpark and many of your favorite activities.
